The 2nd Annual Trout Lake String Music & dance Workshop is set for Fri-Sat Aug 25-26. Just $40 for two great days of instruction and fun – contact Linda Robertson at 395-2668 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are blessed this year to have two great guest instructors: Betsy Branch and Leela Grace. They will be assisted by our own talented Trout Lake musicians, Linda Robertson and Lincoln Crockett –
Betsy Branch from Portland, Oregon is a versatile musician who loves to explore multiple genres of music. She got her start at age 5 in classical music, and then in her 20’s fell in love with folk fiddle music. She has wandered her musical way through music from Ireland, Scotland, Appalachia, Quebec, Sweden, England, Bulgaria and New England, to mention a few. She plays regularly for contra and English Country Dances, and at times you can find her playing and singing at a local pub. She’ll try almost anything, and loves to collaborate with a wide variety of musicians. Her main work is teaching fiddle, and helping both kids and adults to find joy in the instrument and music. As a teacher of music and dance, Leela has inspired literally thousands of school children, banjo students, percussive dancers, and singers of all ages through the classes, school assemblies, week-long camps, and lessons that she has taught across the U.S. and Canada.
